Ways I can help

To help alleviate financial stress, I offer direct billing through some extended benefit plans.

Please email me if finances are an issue to accessing mental health services.

Individuals

Whatever your age, gender, sexual orientation, spirituality, or ethnicity, you are so welcome here. From a trauma-informed, relational approach, I believe counselling is an opportunity to make sense of what has happened to us - not only in our families, but in all the communities, systems and organizations that have shaped us. Understanding and re-processing our past is the beginning of healing and transformation. The process takes time, but it is life changing to reclaim our vitality, take up our space, and discover who we really are.

While I primarily see adults and teens, I also counsel children using art and play-based methods to build a trusting relationship while holistically addressing underlying concerns.

Parenting

I will never claim to have all the answers to one of the most complicated relationships on the planet. However, as a parent of three teens (a blend of adopted and biological) I understand the value of having space to talk through the joys and challenges of raising the next generation. Discovering why our child’s behaviour triggers feelings in us can be uncomfortable, but is often the beginning of change. Whether your child is neuro-diverse, struggling with anxiety, grief, medical diagnoses, or trauma, it would be my honour to help support your parenting journey.

Relationships

As the definition of relationships and family continues to expand, so does the arrangement of chairs in my office. I offer safe, non-judgmental space for everyone. While not all relationships will last forever, I believe that there are often multiple solutions to relationship struggles and that, together, we can re-write anger and grief filled stories into hopeful, redemptive ones.
