I love laughing until I cry, delicious food, my family, travelling to lesser-known destinations, warm summer evenings, long hugs, live music, and twinkly lights at night.

I have been married to my husband for 20 years, and together we parent three teenagers — a blend of adopted and biological siblings.

I grew up with a sibling who was diagnosed with autism in adulthood, so am familiar with both the joys and challenges of neurodiversity.

My education was unconventional: boarding school from age ten, followed by being the only girl in my grade for much of high school. Navigating these challenging systems shaped my empathy for others who have felt different or unseen. That understanding deepened when I immigrated from England to Canada at nineteen. While this move brought many opportunities — and I love living in Vancouver — it has also meant living with complex grief and a heart split between two homes. (And yes, my British sarcasm occasionally slips out).

Alongside my counselling work, my professional background began as a pediatric nurse at BC Children’s Hospital, where I gained firsthand insight into the realities of navigating our healthcare system. I bring lived experience of parenting children with trauma and medical needs.

When time allows, I co-facilitate files with North Shore Restorative Justice who provide an alternative option to punitive legal systems.

I hold a BSc in Nursing from UBC and an MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #26519) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
